Drake - Best I Ever Ever Had
Drake’s first official video is directed by Kanye West, and he likes titties and basketball.

Is it only me who’s disappointed at Amerie and her new single? It sounds dated, like a ok album track from her last album Because I Love It, not a new ‘1 Thing’ which she will need to do a serious comeback. Well, I love the girl, and hope she won’t suffer from the standard album push back this time. In Love & War is set to be released on August 11.
Akon is like Karl Wolf hungry for the middle east public. Here’s the video for his song with the lebanese pop star Melissa.
The Canadian singer Karl Wolf wants to reach out international with his imminent album Nightlife and this new single ‘Yalla Habibi’. For his next video, let’s hope he skips the painful acting.
Ocean’s Seven is a newly composed supergroup containing talented B. Cox, Usher, Trey Songz, Nelly, Jermaine Dupri, Johnta Austin and TY. This video is promoting their upcoming mixtape.
Ne-Yo’s fourth single from his well composed Year Of The Gentleman album.
‘Imma Put It On Her’ is one of those rnb joints that needs it’s guest rapper to truly shine, and that’s probably why the demo track passed me by in February (it didn’t feature Yung Joc or their mentor Diddy). ‘Imma Put It On Her’ is one of the few Day 26 tracks I’m really digging, and April 14th, the release date of their sophomore album Forever In A Day, is now holding my attention a bit tighter.
The video for Trey’s promotional single ‘Brand New’ produced by Soundz. In my opionion he can do much better than this. You all agree right?
Ginuwine is back with the new album A Man’s Thoughts on June 2:nd. Here’s the video for his official first single produced by B. Cox.
Here’s the lovely video for Hilson’s new single ‘Knock You Down’ featuring Kanye West and Ne-Yo. Look out for our review of her debut album In A Perfect World… it will hit us soon.
Ciara sings this Justin produced and written single just like JT. I’m not feeling it. It’s a ok track but sounds like a leftover from his other two albums, a sound I don’t want to hear in 2009 and especially not from Ciara. And the video: a bit disturbing watching her being pawed at like this. Ciara don’t fit this role, she should be the one making Justin crawl, not the other way around.
Keri Hilson’s anticipated debut album In A Perfect World will finally be released on March 24th. Above is the preview video for the Timbo & Polow produced ‘Make Love’ featuring Kanye West. The unusual refrain, does it use the chord from 4 None Blond’s 90’s hit ‘What’s Up’? A nice ballad anyway.
I also post her cover on Soulja Boy’s ‘Turn My Swag On’. It’s insane, just aware the shout outs.

Jazmine Sullivan was responsible for one of last years most impressive debuts, gathering all critics as her fans with the voice of Lauryn Hill. Her stylistically unfocused but well performed album wasn’t my cup of tea, but a couple of songs like ‘Busting Your Windows’ and ‘Call Me Guilty’ were impossible not to fall for.
Above is the video for her new single ‘Dream Big’ (pardon the poor quality, I’ll find a better version tomorrow), a great song but with a dubious feeling I never could ignore. Below you find the Swedish legend Stonebridge’s remix of the same track which erases all uncertainty about the song’s attempts, and makes it the true dance floor banger it wants to be.

While we’re already on patron there´s another track which hasn´t got nearly as much shine as Jamie Foxx´s anthem. LeMarvin is an up and coming singer from California who has been putting out tracks for over a year now. ‘Too Many Patrons’ is the first single from LeMarvin´s debut album Confusion which is still in progress but hopefully released later on this year at the small label group Brookland Entertainment. Featured on the track is the young singer August, who’s also the producer of this song and a bunch of others on the forthcoming album. Here’s a link to a video where the two singers talks about the track.
Even if ‘Too Many Patrons’ can´t compete with ‘Blame It’ as a club banger it´s still a very nice track which actually is a much more suitable for the hangover the day after. LeMarvin has a nice remorseful look on his face as he talks about spilling drinks on some girl’s Louis Vuitton shoes and committing other shameful acts rumbling around drunk in the club. Stuff we all can relate to right?
Lemarvin has been struggling for quite some time now, going through a tough growth in Inglewood, a few years in the navy and a couple of broken record deals. He has nice voice and aims for the same “street sexy” lane as J. Holiday. Don´t forget to look out for this guy in the future.
One of the strongest tracks from this bleak rnb winter has just got an equally strong video. It’s set in a steamy nightclub and features actors Jake Gyllenhaal, Forest Whitaker, Ron Howard and Samuel L Jackson. With a lineup like that combined with ace video director Hype Williams it’s probably hard to fail. Still, what I found most appealing is that it’s so laidback and intimate. You just want to get sucked in to that warm red light and imagine that its 2007 again, right?
It’s always a shame when a fantastic song is backed up by a meaningless video. Even though: Akon for the win!
In 2007 The-Dream was a genius who only wrote works of art, in 2009 he is already a predictable guy lost in his own sound. ’Rockin That Thing’ is nothing else than a big let down, just as the rest of his leaked tracks since the Love/Hate album. Let’s hope the new Love vs. Money (planned to be released in Mars) won’t be completely upseting.
Charlie Wilsons second single ‘There Goes My Baby’ is written by Calvin Richardson and produced by Babyface. I’ve been in love with the song ever since I first heard it on Calvin Richardson’s unreleased album Unleashed from 2006. Can’t say Wilson outshines C-Rich though - on the contrary, Calvin’s version is slightly better. He should have kept it for himself and his When Love Comes album from last year.

They want ‘Never Ever’ to be the new album’s ‘Promise’? I’m not impressed. As a suger sweet album track it’s alright, but as the first single? No no, this choice lowers my expectations. Ciara looks as stunning as always though.
Ok, I admit it, I am in my mid 20s – and quite grown, Thank you! – but I am really digging this track by Atlanta’s own, Vistoso Bosses. Taylah and Kelci make up the singing/rapping duo, both 16 years and together since 2006. They are currently signed to Collipark Records (home to Soulja Boy as well). The song itself is quick, catchy and sweet, and the subtle guitar licks, and easy synthesizer sounds remind us of the airy, rnb-pop of the 90’s (Blaque anyone?). But the standout of the track is the shy, sweet vocals sung by Taylah (Kelci raps, I believe). Taylah showcase a youthful yearning in her voice that makes the listener feel the butterflies in her stomach, and Kelci delivers her 16 bars with the sass of an ATLien young’un, with a bit of Left-Eye growl.
The song leaked in the beginning of last year, but is now a official single (available on iTunes for purchase), and the video premiered earlier this month.
Not sure what else to expect from these girls, but they sound like they definitely have a future ahead of them.
Rebstar’s full ‘Without You’ video premiered last night, featuring Trey Songz.
Christina Milian is about to release her fourth studio album Dream In Color this year, and here’s the video for the Mad Scientist produced first single ‘Us Against The World’. I love the grand video but am not a huge fan of her self written song. It’s far from bad, on paper it’s extremely well written and produced, but the chorus is based on the tiring echo gimmick that in this proportion went plain torture sometime in the beginning of last year. Quite a disappointment since her last underestimated album So Amazing from 2006 left my expectations sky high for this comeback. On the other hand, when the song isn’t bad, and when Dream In Color gathers producers in form of J. R. Rotem, The Runners, Danja, Jim Jonsin and Toby Gad, maybe we can hope for an album not only going for last year’s trends. I should let my expectations stay neutral a little longer.
Will I Ams label haven’t given up his solo album from 2007 just yet. I completely understand them, Songs About Girls was an outstanding album and one of the great masterpieces of 2007, and still didn’t sell almost anything. Here’s the new video for the Polow produced song ‘She’s A Star’, which is thought to be the igniting spark the album needs to find it’s way to the distant charts.
We’re not first with this one, but better late than never. This is the trailer for our friend Rebstars ‘Without You’ video featuring Trey Songz. If you’re from Sweden you’ve probably heard this song before, and for you who haven’t I’ll post it underneath.
