In 2007 The-Dream was a genius who only wrote works of art, in 2009 he is already a predictable guy lost in his own sound. ’Rockin That Thing’ is nothing else than a big let down, just as the rest of his leaked tracks since the Love/Hate album. Let’s hope the new Love vs. Money (planned to be released in Mars) won’t be completely upseting.

    I agree, it’s a descent track. He’s still a great songwriter, and some of his work for other artists (’Keep Dancing’, ‘Touch My Body’ and so on) are of higher quality than most songs out there. But when it comes to the tracks for his own career, for the new album, the magic from Love/Hate is completely gone. The third single ‘My Love’ ft. Mariah for example, it’s just plain mediocre.

    I still have some hopes for the album though. “Shawty is the shit” was a terrible song but other than that I loved his last album. “Rockin that thang” is a hot song IMO.

    Yes also i agree Sebastian. Your post wasn´t about his work as a songwriter. I do miss the songs like Playin in her hair :(

    I guess we can only hope for a surprise..

    I can’t help it I like it. A lot!! It’s stuck in my mind and I can’t get it out, and I don’t want to get it out… On what SoDamnCold said I both agree and disagree “Playin’ in her hair” rocked but on the other side I think “Hatin’ on the club” wasn’t good at all. But that just because I can take on Rihanna in small doses.
